Welcome to Synq ("we," "our," or "us"). Synq is a premium music player application developed and operated independently. This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use the Synq mobile application (the "App") available on the Apple App Store and Google Play Store.

By downloading or using the App, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.

Information We Collect

We collect the following categories of information:

2.1 Information You Provide Directly

  • Account registration data (email address, display name, profile photo)
  • Payment information (processed securely by Apple or Google; we do not store card details)
  • Support communications and feedback you send to us

2.2 Information Collected Automatically

  • Device information (model, OS version, unique device identifiers)
  • App usage data (features used, playback duration, session length)
  • Crash reports and performance diagnostics
  • IP address and general location (country/region level only)

2.3 Music Library Data

Synq processes your local music files solely on your device to build your library. We do not upload your personal audio files to our servers. Metadata such as track titles, artists, and album names may be stored in your account to enable library sync features, but only if you explicitly enable cloud sync.


How We Use Your Information

We use collected information for the following purposes:

  • To provide, maintain, and improve the App and its features
  • To manage your account and authenticate your sessions
  • To process subscription payments and manage billing
  • To sync your library, playlists, and settings across your devices
  • To analyze usage trends and optimize App performance
  • To diagnose technical issues and fix bugs
  • To respond to your support requests and communications
  • To send important service updates and security notifications

We do not sell your personal data to third parties. We do not use your data for targeted advertising.


Data Sharing and Disclosure

We may share your information only in the following limited circumstances:

4.1 Service Providers

We engage trusted third-party providers to operate the App, including cloud infrastructure, crash reporting, and analytics. These providers access your data only as necessary to perform services on our behalf and are contractually bound to protect it.

4.2 Legal Requirements

We may disclose your information if required by law, court order, or governmental authority, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of Synq, our users, or the public.

4.3 Business Transfers

In the event of a merger, acquisition, or sale of all or part of our assets, your information may be transferred. We will notify you via email or a prominent in-app notice before your data is transferred and becomes subject to a different privacy policy.


Data Retention

We retain your personal data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide services. If you delete your account, we will delete or anonymize your personal data within 30 days, except where we are required to retain certain records for legal or financial compliance purposes.

Anonymized, aggregated analytics data (which cannot identify you) may be retained indefinitely to improve the App.


Your Rights and Choices

Depending on your location, you may have the following rights regarding your personal data:

  • Access: Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you
  • Correction: Request correction of inaccurate or incomplete data
  • Deletion: Request deletion of your personal data (right to be forgotten)
  • Portability: Request an export of your data in a machine-readable format
  • Opt-out: Opt out of non-essential analytics and performance tracking via App Settings → Privacy

Security

We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your data, including TLS encryption in transit, AES-256 encryption at rest, and strict access controls. Passwords are hashed using bcrypt and are never stored in plain text.

While we take security seriously, no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure. We encourage you to use a strong, unique password and to enable two-factor authentication on your account.


Children's Privacy

Synq is not directed at children under the age of 13 (or 16 in the European Economic Area). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe we have inadvertently collected such information, please contact us at support.synq@gmail.com and we will promptly delete it.


Third-Party Services

The App may integrate with third-party services such as Apple Music, Spotify, or cloud storage providers when you choose to connect them. These integrations are governed by those services' own privacy policies. We recommend reviewing their policies before connecting your accounts.

Our App may also contain links to external websites. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of third-party sites and encourage you to review their policies.


Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or legal requirements. We will notify you of material changes by updating the "Last updated" date at the top of this page and, for significant changes, by sending an in-app notification or email.

Your continued use of the App after changes become effective constitutes your acceptance of the revised Privacy Policy.
